We’re proud to share a historic milestone for Brokenhead Ojibway Nation.
Today, Brokenhead has officially reached an agreement with The Link to repatriate child and family services—marking a major step toward reclaiming our jurisdiction and ensuring culturally grounded care for our children, youth, and families.
This partnership is about more than service delivery. It’s about bringing our kids home, restoring what was taken, and putting our culture, values, and traditions at the center of care.
Through a phased approach, we’ll transition governance from The Link to Brokenhead Ojibway Nation. Training, infrastructure support, and shared planning will guide this work to ensure it’s strong, sustainable, and led by the community.
This agreement reflects years of advocacy and vision. It’s a model that puts our youth first and builds a future where First Nations children grow up connected to their families, languages, and lands.
We look forward to sharing more in the weeks ahead as we move forward together—Nation to Nation.
